Once upon is a very proper beginning for a bookmark, particularly one made for Peter Rabbit. The pale blue paper carries Peter beneath an ornamental frame, with a dark blue ribbon at the top to show where the page has been left.
The design has the quiet look of a story page rather than a large piece of character stationery. Peter stands beneath the opening words, and the pale decoration keeps the whole thing light enough to belong beside the print of a book.
